SMART CAMPUS HACKATHON

Official Rules & Guidelines

Event Overview

  • Mode: Offline (MTI Hub)
  • Total Duration: 12 Hours (5 Hours Development + Evaluation)
  • Team Size: 2–4 Members
  • Inter-college teams are allowed
  • Each team will be assigned a workspace

Theme

  • Theme: Smart Campus Support System
  • Solutions should address real campus problems
  • Practical and working ideas are prioritized

Fairness Policy

  • Problem statements will be revealed during the event
  • All teams will receive the same information simultaneously
  • Pre-built projects, templates, or reused code are strictly prohibited

Allowed Technology – Web Development

  • Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build your solution
  • Frameworks such as React, Tailwind CSS, and Bootstrap are allowed
  • Basic integrations like APIs, Firebase, or local storage may be used
  • Focus on creating a working, useful, and user-friendly application

Allowed Technology – Python Development

  • Use Python to build your solution
  • Standard libraries are allowed
  • One external library may be used if required (e.g., numpy, pandas)
  • Heavy frameworks such as Django or Flask are not allowed
  • Focus on clear logic and a working program

Development Rules

  • All development must be done during the hackathon
  • Open-source libraries are allowed but must be understood
  • Internet access is allowed for research purposes only
  • Teams must be able to explain their code clearly

Submission & Presentation

  • Teams must submit source code (GitHub/ZIP), presentation, and working demo
  • Each team will get 7 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A
  • Projects must be in working condition during evaluation

Judging Criteria

  • Working Solution – 20%
  • Usefulness & Impact – 20%
  • Creativity & Innovation – 20%
  • Technical Implementation – 20%
  • Presentation & Explanation – 20%

Team & Participation

  • Each team must have 2–4 members
  • All members must actively participate
  • Team changes are not allowed after the event starts

Fair Play & Conduct

  • Cheating, plagiarism, or unfair advantage will lead to disqualification
  • Participants must maintain discipline and professional behavior
  • Misconduct may result in immediate removal from the event

Time & Submission Policy

  • All submissions must be completed before the deadline
  • Late submissions will not be accepted
  • No changes will be allowed after final submission

General Rules

  • All projects must be original and created by participants
  • Participants must bring their own laptops and required tools
  • Organizers are not responsible for personal belongings
  • Participants must follow institutional and safety guidelines

Results & Terms

  • Judges’ decisions are final and binding
  • No objections will be considered once results are announced
  • Organizers reserve the right to modify rules or schedule at any time
